The Difference Between SEO, SEM & PPC - JumpFly PPC Advertising News

Image
The digital marketing industry can be confusing to those who are unfamiliar with it, especially if they don't know all the acronyms and platforms. When I first started in the paid search industry in 2008, I thought my friend who told me about JumpFly worked in "paperclip" marketing because she kept talking about pay-per-click. And I wondered how much marketing an agency could do for a single product like a paperclip.  It turns out my cluelessness about the digital advertising space is fairly common. One of the questions our sales team often gets asked is: "What's the difference between SEM (search engine marketing), SEO (search engine optimization), and PPC (pay-per-click)?"  For me, it was easiest to think about online advertising and SEM as a big umbrella with PPC and SEO underneath.  In order for SEM to deliver the optimal results, there needs to be both PPC and SEO efforts in place. How many of these Las Vegas casino name changes do you remember? - Las Vegas Review-Journal

Image
Rebranding. Switcheroos. A game of musical chairs, only with resort names. However you want to think of it, it's a wild time on the Strip. Hotels and casinos changing names is nothing new. It's practically part of the city's DNA. What's unfolding, though, is the sort of thing that usually needs to be tracked with one of those murder boards and their spider webs of push pins and different colored yarn. Take the Hard Rock. Last March, it became Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, now The Mirage is going to become the Hard Rock. MGM Resorts International will retain the Mirage name, because developer Steve Wynn acquired the rights to it by paying $250,000 each to the La Mirage Casino, which was last known as the Key Largo, and the Mirage Motel, which became the Glass Pool Inn. Elsewhere on the Strip, Bally's Corp., which somehow doesn't own Bally's and never did (that was the unrelated Bally Manufacturing), is in the process of...

10 of the best places to stay on Cape Cod and the Islands - USA Today 10Best

Technically, Cape Cod is a peninsula, but the opening of the Cape Cod Canal in 1914 created a water border with mainland Massachusetts, unifying the Cape with its neighbors, true islands, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket as a trio of vacation spots. Each is a different experience, but all are stocked with boutique inns and fabulous resorts. Reading 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' at 17 in Summer 21 - Book and Film Globe

Image
Young reader recommends an escape to Wragby. Bored one afternoon, I grabbed the first book I saw in my dad's office. It happened to be Lady Chatterley's Lover by D. H. Lawrence, the controversial early 20th century novel famous for its crude language and frequent references to sex. I chose the book because I liked the cover, an abstractly painted naked woman, who seemed to be flowing through the wilderness. The book centers around Constance Chatterley (Connie), an aristocratic woman trapped in a passionless marriage to her handicapped husband, Sir Clifford Chatterley. She grows increasingly lonely on her large estate, Wragby, and sparks a scandalous affair with another isolated character, their gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors. The book took me over a month to finish, and I frequently had to consult Sparknotes to comprehend what I was reading. But a recent high school graduate reading anything longer than Instagram captions is unusual these days. A recent high school graduate rea...
